"The agreement recognizes the increase in growth and needs of ASA in recent years," said Bruce Silver, President/CEO of Racing Electronics. "We've had an important position with ASA for some time now and our intention is to continue expanding that involvement as we believe in the future potential of their developing properties." Plans call for significant upgrades to existing equipment, including the addition of a repeater system for the main operating frequency beginning in 2004. Racing Electronics will post contingency awards for both series and member track competitors. R. E. will also establish the Lightning Challenge Award. It will be an annual presentation of a new MOTOROLA 2 Way Radio and RaceTRAC Platinum Headset to the crew chief of the team that wins the Rookie of the Year. There are further plans to make the broadcast audio feed from televised events available for competitors and fans through scanners and an FM radio frequency. R.E will be offering scanners and headsets for sale or rental at the ASA Racing Fan Gear Trailer. Racing Electronics has been in the motorsports business for more than 15 years. The company's main office and manufacturing division is located Pleasantville, N.J. (outside of Atlantic City) with a retail office in Concord, N.C. (across from Lowe's Motor Speedway). Racing Electronics operates a fleet of full-service vehicles attending races throughout the United States each week. The full product line of Racing Electronics includes radios and accessories from Motorola and Kenwood. The line also includes high quality scanners from Uniden plus the RE2000 Alpha Racing Scanner. In addition, Racing Electronics has worked to develop, produce and improve products for the racing market. Some of the products include wiring and cables manufactured under the Racing Electronics name; headsets built and customized under the brand name RaceTRAC; a full line of Comm-Tools batteries and microphones; and two styles of Racing Binocs binoculars.
