THE RED BLUFF OUTLAWS SPRINT KART SEASON UPDATERED BLUFF OUTLAWS SPRINT KART
Date: 10/25/2005
There were only six F200s were on hand for the season opener. This class was mainly developed as an alternate way for mature drivers to get started in Outlaw Karting and has been a boon to advancing the appeal of the sport to an older crowd. Racers as old as 60 come out to run the fast dirt track in this division and have fun without large initial investment. Young Braedon Enos turned a quick time at 10.850. Alyssa Hogan ran a 10.898 and Jeff Smith a 11.356. Gary Gabel won the dash over Hogan and newcomer Vic Hannan - owner of Vic Hannan Landscape Materials in Anderson. Smith clicked off a 10.283 as he dominated the short 10 lap feature. 17 year old Alyssa Hogan ran second. Kevin Acosta was just one second behind Hogan and quick timer Enos was a lap down in fourth over Gabel. In the younger divisions Brandon White had the fastest time in the Box Stock Division. White's 9.8 second lap proves these 5hp motors are fast and the racing is furious. This division has an age group of 8 to 13 year olds and consists mainly of kids who have run the Beginner Box Stock Division for at least one season. Logan Seavey won the Trophy Dash and Zachary Heinz from Carson City NV won the Feature Event. Heinz beat his own best qualifying lap time on lap 24 as he won by 1.3 seconds over fellow Carson City driver Kellcy Bell. Third place winner James Edens was 1.5 seconds behind the winner and had a best time of 9.862. Casey McClain from Palo Cedro ran fourth ahead of Cameron Bartlett, Andrew Anderson, Logan Seavey, Tanner Thompson, Tyler Seavey and Kyle Tellstrom. The Beginner Box Stock division featured 16 karts on opening night. These karts are piloted by 5 to 8 year olds. This is the learning ground for future stars of motorsports. Here they learn the basics of driving, racing and most importantly good sportsmanship. Richie Carrel earned quick time honors at 11.593 seconds a lap. Chase Majdic ran 11.604 with Katina Baker, Cory Combs, Rushing and newcomer Samantha Schultz in the 11 second bracket. Chase Majdic won the Trophy Dash Race over Zachary Rushing and Samantha Schultz. Chase Majdic took the honors of winning the A Main Event for the division. Race number two was held this past weekend, Oct 22. Again a large turn out of Outlaw Karts made for a great day and evening of fast dirt track racing. For the second week NASCAR driver Ryan Foster set the qualifying fast time with an 8.810 second lap. It was Brent Hamilton who won the Trophy Dash ahead of "Pistol" Pete Johnston, Justin Reinolds and Foster. Returning after a 2 year hiatus from the Outlaws, CW Tiner proved his mettle by leading the pack of Opens to win the Feature A Main Event. In the Open Intermediate division Mason Moore was the star of the night setting the fast time with a 9.58 second lap and winning the super fast A Main Event.. The Trophy Dash finishing line-up was Keith Bloom Jr. for the win, followed by Andrew Cumpton, Dillon Silverman, Mason, Moore, Kyle Larson and Matthew Davis. The Intermediate 125/250cc Division fast time was set by Brian Southers with a blistering 9.868 second lap which out paced even the 500cc machines. Second fast time was made by Chase Hill, RB Outlaws Box Stock Champion. Making the biggest splash of his Intermediate career was Jacob Miller. This 9 year old from Chico wowed the crowd by holding off older driver Brian Southers to win the Trophy Dash. National Champion Kyle Larson won the Feature A Main while subbing for Justyn Cox. In the younger Box Stock division the Seavey brothers stole the show. With older brother Tyler setting fast time with a 10.1 second lap and Logan Seavey winning the Feature A Main Event. Cameron Bartlett took the Trophy Dash win. In the Beginner Box Stocks Richie Carrel continued his great season by setting qualifying fast time with a 11.44 second lap and winning a hard fought battle to take the A Main Feature first place. Brian Hubert from the long line of Hubert racers took the Trophy Dash checkered flag.
The next race for the Red Bluff Outlaws is this coming Saturday, Oct. 29. Trophy Dashes and Main Events start at 6:00pm. For more information about the Outlaws visit www.
