THE ASA LATE MODEL SERIES SERVES UP SOME SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY

Schedules for the Southern Division are taking shape and will continue to be added in some of the southern hotspots in Georgia, Alabama, and the Carolina’s. The schedule will consist of up to 16 events for the 2006 season and cover a good portion of the Southern United States.

The series will attract some of the best short track teams in the country to compete in this highly visible racing novelty. The Southern Division will make its inaugural appearance at Bronson Motor Speedway in Bronson, Florida on March 4th 2006. Teams from all over the country will participate in this event to kick-off the ASA Late Model Series Southern Tour.

The ASA Late Model Series is a Professional Racing Series that offers late model racers an arena to compete against other top teams in the country. The high visibility of the series offers a chance for teams to get the recognition they need to advance. The ASA Late Model Series places great value on the teams and works toward showcasing that talent.

“The teams are the biggest asset that we have and we work hard to make sure that they get the recognition that they deserve” commented Ron Varney, Series founder and owner. The ASA Late Model Series has garnered the attention of many developmental teams and diverts a lot of attention to the promoting and showcasing of the teams that participate within the series. “The reason we are so successful at this is because we do have the best drivers in the county competing in our series,” finished Varney.

Teams come out not only to compete, but also to perfect their skills as a professional driver. To run the series, you will visit a number of varied tracks with different speeds, sizes and banking. The teams also have the eyes and ears of the racing world upon them and many will use this as a tool to launch their racing careers. The ASALMS is a premier series, with premier drivers and tremendous support from some of the largest companies in the racing industry.

The ASA Late Model Series South will offer plenty of incentive to teams that would like to participate in 2006. The purse structure will be based on the current ASA Late Model Series structure which not only rewards the top team but offers a good payout throughout the field. The Series will offer an end of year point’s fund, Winner Circle Program that will reward teams based on attendance and plenty of per event and year end contingency awards.

The ASA Late Model Series 2005 season offered teams over $60,000 in contingency awards for the season that were paid out per event in addition to the purse which pays from $500 to $2500 for the 26 car field. The year end awards banquet will bring an additional $25,000 in contingency awards, a $25,000 points fund and Winner Circle pay of $1000 to $250 per team based on their attendance. The Series also ran the GM Performance Shoot-out Races at each event to ensure that everyone who showed up to an event was able to race and receive some payout and contingency awards.

The series enjoys giving back to their teams and considers each ASA Late Model Series Member an asset to short track racing. Even though all payouts are not cash based, the benefits are well received by the teams that participate.

This is by far the most cost effective series of this caliber in the country. Professional teams can run the complete series for a fraction of the cost it would take to run another series at the same level. The inaugural season in the south will sweep through the southern US in the same manner it did in the Midwest. It is a concept that works and will continue to gather more and more attention year after year. The Crate Motor, Template Body package with cost limitations on parts is appealing not only drivers, but to race tracks, companies and spectators throughout the country.

The Series will be hosting an informational Southern Owners/Drivers Meeting in November for many of the new teams in the southern states. The November dates and details will be announced shortly.
